Keeping it Local in Norman

Recently, my husband and I had a realization that we occasionally have that it has been a really long time since our last date. Normally this realization occurs about 2-4 months after the last date. (I know, our lives once we become parents are going to have even worse date opportunities so we should be taking advantage.)

Because of a candid conversation with a dear friend, Morgan, Nick and I committed to having two dates a month. To clarify, dates DO NOT have to cost money. Keep that in mind when you plan out your ideas. The internet is bloated with free activity ideas.

Since it had been awhile since our last date, we decided to splurge on a farm to table restaurant in Norman called Local. We enjoyed some incredible food (photo below is of the Farmer’s Market salad and some unfortunate focaccia that we could not eat no matter how amazing and scrumptious it smelled). Nick’s entree was a delectable scallops dish and I tried their ratatouille. I have to say I would probably not get my dish again but Nick was very pleased with his! Overall, we had a very enjoyable time and would absolutely go back and try something new. Be sure to try this place out the next time you travel south of OKC!
